Wisconsin's Wal-Mart and SAM'S CLUB Associates Donated $25,000

Associates of Wisconsin’s Wal-Mart and SAM’S CLUBS today donated $25,000 to the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross to support the organization’s flood-relief efforts.
MADISON, Wis. - Associates of Wisconsin’s Wal-Mart and SAM’S CLUBS today donated $25,000 to the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross to support the organization’s flood-relief efforts.
Bob McAdam, director of government relations for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., presented a check to Gov. Scott McCallum for the Red Cross this afternoon in a ceremony in the Governor’s Conference Room.
"This month’s devastating rains and flooding have challenged us to reach out even more to our neighbors in need," said James Haden, manager of the Wal-Mart store in Prairie du Chien. "Wal- Mart and SAM’S CLUB associates throughout the state have done a remarkable job of providing aid to their communities, and we’re happy to help the Red Cross in its efforts to get many Wisconsinites back on their feet."
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. operates more than 70 Wal-Mart stores, Supercenters, SAM’S CLUBS and distribution centers in Wisconsin and employs about 20,000 associates in the state. Last year, the company’s associates in the state donated about $4 million to community organizations, while associates nationwide raised and donated more than $190 million. For the last two years, the public has named Wal-Mart the company they think of first as a good corporate citizen, according to Cone, Inc.
