Sam's Club Expands Two Locations in Columbia

Expansions Offer Growing Community Unparalleled Selection and Services
BENTONVILLE, ARK., April 26, 2007 –Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and one of the nation’s largest membership warehouse clubs will open two expanded local facilities at 5426 Forest Drive and 350 Harbison Boulevard.
Both Clubs will hold exclusive tours for the news media at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1 during which local charities and community organizations will receive grants totaling $22,375 and $12,000, respectively. Business Members are invited to attend a breakfast and club preview Wednesday, May 2. Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, May 3.
“We are excited to be serving the needs of the Columbia community with expanded Sam’s Club locations,” said Sean Eakins, East Columbia’s Club manager. “We believe we can support the growing community through our many Member services and great selection. Moreover, we are excited to aid in future development of small businesses in the area and be an integral part of this developing community. Joel Hoover, Club manager in northwestern Columbia added, “We believe existing members in the region, as well as shoppers unfamiliar with warehouse clubs, will enjoy and find value in our selection of fresh foods, brand name electronics, jewelry and exciting treasure hunt items. We expect to be better able to serve the number of small businesses in Columbia and the surrounding areas as a convenient partner to help cut costs and achieve further success.”
Some of the new features at the two locations include:
• Outside, a new Sam’s Club logo graces the entry as part of an effort to refresh and update branding.
• Additional skylights to maximize the use of natural daylight and improve energy efficiency.
Sam’s Club offers a variety of services including merchant credit card processing and travel services as well as other programs. Both Business and Advantage Members can save even more on club services and purchases with a Plus Membership earning up to two percent cash back by using a Sam’s Club Discover card.
Regular Club hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gold Key Hours for business members are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Additionally, two Wal-Mart Super Centers are joining the Columbia community. Opening May 9, 2007, the new Wal-Mart stores are located at 115 E. Church Street and 1326 Bush River Road.
