Statement Concerning American Chef’s Selection Frozen Angus Beef Patties Recall

Bentonville, ARK., October 8, 2007-- Cargill Meat Solutions, Inc. in cooperation with the USDA has initiated a recall of the following frozen ground beef patties:
American Chef’s Selection Angus Beef Patties
UPC # 0002874907056
Each package bears a case code of “7703100” and Best if used by dates of “02/05/2008,” “02/06/2008,” “02/12/2008” and “02/13/2008.”
Sam’s Club voluntarily removed this product and any current frozen American Chef’s Selection Angus Beef Patties from our U.S. locations on Friday Oct. 5. We want our Members to know we are doing all that we can to resolve this matter with our supplier and the appropriate agencies.
Sam’s Club Members who may have purchased American Chef’s Selection Angus Beef Patties are being asked to return it to their nearest Sam’s Club for a full refund or to destroy the purchased product. At Sam’s Club we adhere to strict quality assurance controls and work with our suppliers to ensure that we provide you with quality products. The supplier is cooperating fully with the USDA to resolve the issue.
