Sam's Club Opens Linden Location

BENTONVILLE, ARK., January 24, 2008 –Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and one of the nation’s largest warehouse clubs will open a new facility at 1900 East Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.
Prior to the Sam’s Club grand opening for the public, an exclusive tour for the news media is planned at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 29, during which 27 local charities and community organizations will receive grants totaling $37,000. The grant presentation begins with a special breakfast for all grant recipients, and Mayor Richard J. Gerbounka is scheduled to be the keynote speaker. Media are invited to attend the breakfast and check presentation prior to the club tour.
Wednesday, January 30, Business Members are invited to attend a breakfast and club preview. New and current business members will have opportunity to learn about employee health insurance, Fax-n-Pullsm, and Gold Key Hours.
Membership Assistant Manager Slawomire”Swavek” Dziuba, Checkout Supervisor Ram K Subedi and Cashier Luz Rosario, who speak a total of eight languages, will host Meet the Manager from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.. This event gives local business owners an exclusive opportunity to learn how Sam’s Club can help their businesses save on everyday needs as well as grow their profitability.
Grand opening ceremonies will begin at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, January 31. Several special events are also planned throughout the month. Twin Towers
Massage is scheduled to be at the new club January 30 to February 10 and George DeLaillo Co., an Italian Food Road Show, is scheduled for January 31- February 11.
“We are excited to serve the needs of the Linden community with a new Sam’s Club,” said Trina Rumph, club manager. “We believe existing members in the region, as well as shoppers unfamiliar with warehouse clubs, will enjoy and find value in our selection of fresh foods, brand name electronics, jewelry and exciting treasure hunt items. In addition, we expect to be better able to serve the growing number of small businesses in Linden and the surrounding areas by helping them to cut costs and achieve further success.”
Sam’s Club offers a variety of services through its third party providers, including health insurance, merchant credit card processing and travel services as well as other programs. Both Business and Advantage Members can save even more on club services and purchases with a Plus Membership earning up to two percent cash back by using a Sam’s Club Discover card.
Regular Club hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gold Key Hours for business members are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
A new Sam’s Club logo graces the entry and interior of the building as part of an effort to refresh and update branding.
