ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS INCLUDED WITH SELECT PRODUCT PURCHASES

BENTONVILLE, Ark., May 22, 2008—In an effort to help families stretch their economic stimulus checks further, Sam’s Club will offer annual memberships for non-members and a $40 gift card for existing members with the purchase of select merchandise in its 593 clubs nationwide. In addition, Sam’s Club will also cash economic stimulus checks for members at no charge.

The Sam’s Club economic stimulus bonus membership and $40 gift card are available with the purchase of any one of a dozen items, while supplies last, beginning May 18 through May 31. Some of the featured items include a Brighton Patio dining set, Serta Queen Mattresses, Samsung TV’s, a Nikon digital camera and other electronics.

Existing members who purchase any one of the special products may renew their membership with their $40 gift card, use it toward another purchase or pass it along to family or friends.

“Our goal with this program is to deliver significant savings on merchandise our members and families may need or want today, while providing them with a way to save all year long,” said Cindy Davis, Senior Vice President, Membership and Marketing.

In a recent survey of 2,500 Sam’s Club Business Members, more than 70 percent report saving enough in just one month on their purchases to pay their annual membership fee.

The annual fee for a Sam’s Club Business Membership is $35, Advantage Memberships start at $40 for individuals and families. Both Business and Advantage Members can save even more on club services and purchases with a Plus Membership, earning up to two percent cash back by using a Sam’s Club Discover® card.

Sam’s Club Business Members benefit every day of the year from exclusive early shopping Gold Key Hours, Click ‘n’ Pull® and Fax ‘n’ Pull® convenient ordering services, credit-card processing and savings on printing services with FedEx and FedEx Kinko’s.
